United States Beta

Permitext Beta 1 is offered only in the United States to people who can enter into a binding agreement. You must be at least 18 years old to use Permitext. The Beta may change, experience interruptions, or contain errors while it is being evaluated.

Professional reference tool

Permitext is an unofficial research and workspace tool. It is not a government publication, code official, architect, engineer, attorney, or other licensed professional, and it does not issue permits, approvals, or official interpretations. Enacted code text and applicable agency materials remain controlling. You are responsible for checking citations, source dates, project facts, amendments, and agency guidance and for obtaining qualified professional or agency review before relying on Permitext for legal, permitting, design, construction, safety, or financial decisions.

AI-assisted Research can be incomplete or incorrect even when it provides citations. A cited source does not guarantee that every conclusion is correct or applicable to a particular project.

Accounts and security

You are responsible for safeguarding your sign-in methods and for activity performed through your account. Provide accurate information, do not share access in a way that defeats account or subscription limits, and promptly report suspected unauthorized use to permitext@gmail.com.

Free and Pro access

Code reading and search remain available on the Free plan. Pro currently costs $20 per month, has no free trial, and includes the professional workspace features and Research allowance described at purchase. Pro renews automatically each month until canceled. Taxes, if applicable, may be added by the payment provider. To stop the next charge, cancel before the next monthly renewal using the cancellation method for the platform that billed you.

Web subscriptions are billed through Stripe. iOS subscriptions are billed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. A subscription should be owned by one Permitext account; creating duplicate subscriptions through Apple and Stripe does not create an additional benefit.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel at any time. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal and Pro remains available through the already-paid billing period. Deleting the Permitext account does not itself cancel an Apple subscription. Web subscribers cancel from Settings by opening Manage Subscription; iOS subscribers cancel in Apple subscription settings. A Stripe web charge is eligible for a full refund when requested within 72 hours of the charge, regardless of Search or Research usage. Research allowances and service limits

Pro includes 100 AI-assisted Research turns per UTC calendar month. Research may analyze evidence selected by you and enacted evidence identified by Permitext for the question. Permitext may enforce reasonable request, daily, monthly, storage, security, and abuse limits to protect the service and control operating cost. Unused included turns do not roll over and have no cash value. Additional Research turn packs are not currently offered. Reading and search are not removed merely because a Research allowance is exhausted.

Your content

You retain ownership of notes, project information, questions, and other content you submit. You give Permitext a limited license to host, copy, process, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, synchronize, maintain, and provide the features or support you request. This license does not authorize Permitext to sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train Permitext or third-party AI models unless you separately and expressly opt in. You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that doing so does not violate law or another person's rights.

Permitext Beta 1 is not approved for confidential, regulated, or sensitive personal information, such as government identification numbers, financial-account information, health records, passwords, or private information about clients or occupants. You must redact that material before submitting notes, questions, Project facts, images, support requests, or other content to Permitext. Ordinary project information, including a property address, may be submitted when needed for a feature you request, subject to the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• use Permitext unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm another person;
• attempt to bypass authentication, plan limits, Research limits, or security controls;
• probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service except where law expressly permits;
• upload malware or content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights; or
• present Permitext output as an official government determination or guaranteed professional advice.

Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Beta features and may correct or replace content. We will try to preserve paid access and user work, but the Beta is provided on an availability basis and uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed.

Material subscription changes will be disclosed before they take effect where required. For New York consumers, Permitext will provide notice of a material subscription change at least five business days and no more than 30 days before the change. Permitext will not charge a higher subscription price without the consent or cancellation-and-refund protection required by applicable law.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict or terminate access for material violation of these Terms, fraud, abuse, security risk, nonpayment, or legal necessity. When reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. You may stop using Permitext or delete your account from Settings, subject to the separate cancellation requirements described above.

Disclaimers and limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Permitext and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, or uninterrupted availability. Permitext is not responsible for decisions made without independent verification of controlling sources and project facts.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Permitext will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or lost-profit damages. Any aggregate liability arising from the paid service will not exceed the amount you paid Permitext during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent that nonwaivable law provides otherwise.

Before filing a claim, you and Permitext agree to send a written description of the dispute to the other side and try in good faith to resolve it for 30 days. This informal step does not prevent either side from seeking urgent relief or using an eligible small-claims court. If the dispute is not resolved, either side may bring a claim in a state or federal court that has jurisdiction. These Terms do not require arbitration or waive a right to participate in a class action when that right otherwise exists.

Changes, questions, and notices

Material changes will be reflected by the updated date presented on this page and communicated as applicable law requires. A change that requires renewed consent will not be applied merely by changing this page. Questions, dispute notices, or legal notices can be sent to permitext@gmail.com. Permitext does not publish the operator's private residential address.
